Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission planning material identifies four major lakes in the Kissimmee Chain: Lake Tohopekaliga, Cypress Lake, Lake Hatchineha, and Lake Kissimmee. Together they cover approximately 65,000 surface acres and form part of the headwaters that ultimately connect toward Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades.
